Who is Zab Rivera?

My names Zab Rivera, short for Zabdiel Rivera. I'm a 1991 child, born and raised in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷.
If we're focused on today - I live in North Carolina, USA. I'm an Endpoint Engineer that works for a relatively small team within a rather large enterprise. I manage and optimize endpoint infrastructure for a fully global enterprise spanning the US, Europe, Mexico, Canada, Russia, Australia, China, and more. I am responsible for ensuring the efficiency, security, and functionality of over 14,000 devices while driving innovation in endpoint management and improving user experience.
Due to when I was born, I was fortunate enough a witness how we interacted with technology before and after the internet. This dichatomy acted as a catalyst for my interest in how we as a people interacted with technology - it showed me both the friction and connectivity we have with technology on the phyiscal plane as well as the digital.
My draw to enterprise endpoint management comes with no surprises: it is a field where the physical and the digital still meet the people.
Being exposed to technology through things like the Nintendo GameBoy, I found the fun. But I didn't meet the friction yet. In the early 2000s I got my first computer - a dinky little eMachines that my mother could afford at the local Walmart. With no internet, I tinkered with everything this little Windows XP machines could do. This is where I met the friction - and I was hooked! I eventually joined any club in school I could find that had internet access - and eventually began trying my hand at repairing hardware such as faulty Xbox 360's or Malware infested clunker laptops. This passion took me through life, and I've always had the same approach: make it make sense, make it useful for the common person, respect the craft.
